Privacy Policy

ShopThisList ("we," "us") turns a photo or PDF of a supply list into a ready-to-check-out Amazon cart. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and who we share it with.
ShopThisList is currently in alpha. Some of what's described below may change as the product matures, and we'll update this page when it does.
What we collect
- List uploads. The photo or PDF you upload is sent directly to our AI provider for processing and isn't retained afterward. We store the item text it extracts (so you can revisit a list later) and a hash of the image, used only to skip re-processing if you upload the exact same file again.
- Account information. If you sign in, your email address and, if you use Google or Facebook sign-in, your name and profile photo as provided by that service. Uploading a list without signing in still creates an anonymous session so we can save your list for you.
- Payment information. Handled entirely by our payment processor. We never see or store your card details ourselves — we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.
- Usage data. Basic, aggregated site analytics and performance metrics — not tied to your identity.
How we use it
- Uploaded images are sent to our AI provider to extract the items on your list.
- Extracted item names are sent to our product-matching provider to find matching Amazon listings and prices.
- Your list, matches, and selections are stored so you can come back to a list, share it, or re-open it after payment.
- Payment confirmations from our payment processor are used to unlock your cart.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use your uploaded lists to train our own models.
Who we share it with
We share data with service providers that make the product work, and only as needed for them to perform that function: an AI provider (to read and extract your list), a product-search provider (to find and price matching items), a payment processor (to handle checkout), and infrastructure providers (to host the app and store your data). If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we exchange what's needed for that with the provider you chose. If you click through to buy an item, that purchase happens on Amazon's site, under its own privacy policy — we don't see or control what happens there.
Your choices
You can delete a list at any time from Your Lists, which removes the associated upload and extracted data. To remove your account and everything tied to it, see Deleting your data below.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your ShopThisList account and all data associated with it — your email and profile details, every list and its extracted items, saved and hidden lists, your preferences, and any recipients you've added. Email support@shopthislist.ai from the address on your account (or the email tied to your Google or Facebook sign-in) and we'll delete it within 30 days and confirm when it's done. We may keep a minimal record of the request itself, and payment records our processor is required to retain, but these aren't used to re-identify you.
If you signed in with Facebook, you can also remove ShopThisList from Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites. That revokes our access to your Facebook profile going forward; email us as above to also erase data already stored.
Children's privacy
ShopThisList isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
